Welcome to Haeberer Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, where we offer non-surgical bite corrections, and retainers for your aligned smile. If you want a successful orthodontic experience, our Haeberer Family & Cosmetic Dentistry team strongly encourages you to take good care of your smile while you align your teeth by keeping up on oral hygiene.

Oral hygiene in Sterling, Virginia, is extremely important because it helps you keep your smile clean and pristine on a regular basis. So, to help you keep your oral health in top-notch condition, Dr. Alfred Haeberer and our team recommend doing the following things:

Brush: Brush your teeth after each meal and snack so you can remove the food particles that get stuck in your brackets and wires. This will also help you have a clean and foodless smile. Make sure you brush with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.

Floss: Floss your teeth at least once a day. You can floss more frequently if you want to keep your smile free from food particles and bad breath. As you floss, thread the product through the space between the wire and the front surfaces of the teeth. Then, gently push the floss between the teeth and scrape the sides of each chomper. When you’re done, move to the next smile crevice.

Rinse: Rinse your mouth daily with fluoride or antibacterial mouthwash. Doing so will deeply clean your smile, nourish and strengthen your teeth, and improve your breath.
